Spiritual and Religious aspect

Nanuri International School is committed to providing a sanctuary and a haven conducive to learning and worthwhile experiences that enable students to continual growth in Christ as their personal Saviour. This has come to these varying activities:

* Education for Special Purpose (ESP)

* Music Ministry

* Week of Meditation and Prayer

* Thanksgiving Program

Mission and Outreach Programs

Nanuri International School believes that the key to transforming lives for Jesus is through the context of the phenomenological interactions and ‘self-others’ relationships formed in the community and the neighbourhood. This has involved teachers and students who work together mission-minded in Christ innately endowed with charitable volunteering attitude with special interest and passion that lead and appeal volunteer participation. In doing this, the students have to go through the ESP trainings administered by NIS teachers and student leaders.

The purpose of having a mission field and outreach programs of Nanuri International School is to:

* Teach, train and prepare commonplace people and children to go and do extraordinary things in the name of Jesus so that all might see, hear, and experience God’s profound love in the most palpable ways.

* Care for the most vulnerable people in the community by showing the love and compassion of Jesus and the privilege God has given us to come alongside with them for the sake of the gospel.

* Strengthen already existing churches in dire need by teaching, training, and equipping them with the needed resources to see Christ-centered, Holy Spirit-led, biblically-based churches take root until His Second Advent.

* Expand the Kingdom of God through church planting, Christian education, campus evangelism, sports outreach, English language classes encompassing religious story-telling and action, songs-teaching and more rendered by NIS students volunteer.

* Conduct medical mission outreaches in remote and far-flung villages and communities that lack health care services.

* Provide opportunities to develop and sustain an entrepreneurial culture for youth or livelihood programs for adults in economically-challenged areas of the local community with limited resources

* Sponsor feeding programs and gift-giving to children and donations to beneficiary school in impoverished areas to help decrease the incidents of malnourishment and supplement for the lack.

Education for Special Purpose

This course aims to primarily develop the English language for the learners to learn the skill of speaking and interacting to be used during the students’ exposure to charity volunteering in an environment where an outreach program is to be held. Through the language, students are also expected to achieve the three factors of learning, (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor) and to have good character in order for them to understand other cultures as well.. To develop the moral values, we also inculcate the knowledge to know God. After preparation and training, students are then ready for the outreach program in certain mission fields.

Music Ministry

Music is one of the most effective means of impressing and expressing the heart. It serves as a holy purpose to lift the thoughts to that which is pure, noble and elevating.

Nanuri International School Glee Club is the official choral group of NIS. It is composed of students coming from different grade levels of the school. Its purpose is to boost the student’s confidence, to bring out their singing enthusiasm, to express their artistic capabilities, to help provide musical intermissions in school programs and to train them for sincerity of effusing musicality.

The Glee Club doesn’t only perform for entertainment and aesthetic intention but also serves as charitable purpose. It serves its purpose and claims its greatness with utmost humility.

Nanuri International School’s mission is “MAKADIYOS” which aims to religious affiliation of the students.

In relation to this, Nanuri creates programs like “Week of Prayer.”

Week of prayer is a 6-day religious activity. During the worship, students participate and do most of the parts of the program except the message part which would be given by an invited guest speaker.

Thanksgivin Program

Thanksgiving is conducted every 3rd Friday of the month another spiritual  and emphasis program.

Week of Prayer and Thanksgiving Day contributes to the holistic approach of students learning between academic and religious aspects.

Pathfindering

It is a program that works specifically on the cultural, social and religious education of children and teens. It trains the young people in preparation to genuine service to others.

Pathfindering  is centered on a “physical-mental and spiritual tripod”. The club is filled with fun physical activities to meet the needs and interests of the students; where they also realize the importance of practical usefulness.
